NFLinLA.com is Proud To Reserve This Page for Potential Homes for our New Team
NEWS April 22nd-->> NFLinLA.com attended a Special Press Conference at the Rose Bowl on Tuesday April 22nd to discuss concepts for the new NFL Stadium at the Rose Bowl. At the press conference, architectural concepts for the proposed new home of L.A.'s next NFL Team were presented by the Rose Bowl's NFL project committee. This included Bill Thomson of the Rose Bowl Operating Company (RBOC), John Moag of Moag & Company and project architects HOK Sport. The presenters wanted to make clear that making a Sate-of-the-Art Facility while both preserving the Historical Landmark and enhancing the Arroyo Seco were priorities that guided this redesign effort. Four of the drawings presented of the approximately 65,000 seat stadium are shown below.

OLDER NEWS ITEMS:

On Wednesday, Jan. 22nd, NFLinLA.com had a very productive and informative meeting at the Rose Bowl regarding the return of the NFL to the L.A. Area. Our meeting was with Mr. Charles Thompson Jr., Public Relations Manager for the Rose Bowl. The following issues were made clear during the meeting:

1) The Rose Bowl has a very active, ongoing program to bring L.A. an NFL Team.

2) The Rose Bowl intends to be the lead venue for the NFL in the Los Angeles area.

3) The Rose Bowl is supportive of the efforts of NFLinLA.com and is also excited about the fans' involvement in the process via the web site.

Previously, the Rose Bowl had made themselves available to the NFL as a temporary site until a permanent stadium was ready. That is now changed, and the Rose Bowl now views themselves as the primary venue for the next home of the NFL in the Los Angeles area.

The Rose Bowl has selected Moag & Company to help them with this effort. Moag & Company is a major player in professional sports and had a primary role in getting Baltimore the Ravens.

As part of the Rose Bowl's plan, they will transform the current stadium into a first class venue that the NFL will be proud to play in. The Rose Bowl's attitude is to show the NFL that they want professional football by making themselves ready; not that the NFL somehow needs them. The previous attitude that the NFL needs LA has soured past efforts by other groups.

The Rose Bowl was also very complimentary of NFLinLA.com. They like what we are doing and are supportive of the intent and efforts of our web site. They are excited that NFLinLA.com has brought Fan involvement back into the process. Mr. Thompson has also requested direct communication to the Fans through NFLinLA.com. Of course, NFLinLA.com has agreed and will immediately work on setting up this access. This will allow the NFL Fans in the L.A. area to ask questions and make comments directly to the Rose Bowl.

Please stay tuned as this forum will be ready soon.

Future meetings have been agreed to, NFLinLA.com will keep you updated.
