What The LA Fans Are Saying:

NFL2LA - [quote]To Paul Tagliabue's belated credit, he finally seemed to realize it at the last Super Bowl. He kept talking about how important it was for "Los Angeleeeees," as he always pronounces it, to get a franchise in the near future. Other league owners finally have their heads out of the Astroturf and see the monetary advantages, as well. ::

Ian,San Diego - With the announcement that funding has been secured to begin construction of the Galen Center, the new USC basketball arena, now they think about knocking down the LA Sports Arena and using the land its currently on for a parking structure for the Coliseum. That would be one way of getting the NFL to come back.

William - The team doesn't have to actually be IN the city of Los Angeles. I mean, Los Angeles County is usually considered LA city anyway because the city is so damn big and stretches everywhere. The only good thing is that L.A. has two bomb ass college football teams (one of which, UCLA, I go to) who keep some sort of exciting football in the town. Still though, a city like L.A. absolutely needs an NFL team...it should not be a question.

Gary-Long Beach - The search for a NFL home may be over. In Long Beach there is a 260 acre site adjacent to the L.B. Airport. This site is owned by Boeing Realty and was formally used for aircraft manufacturing. The property is in the idea phase for redevelopment and offers a viable site for a new NFL stadium. I have met with Boeing Officials and they are interested in assessing the feasibility of the site. A proposal has been submitted to the Long Beach City Council and details are being worked out to make a proposal to the NFL. I spoke with Neil Glatt the NFL's President of Stratigic Planning and he is awaiting a formal proposal from the City of Long Beach on the site. Mark Fabiani, point man in the San Diego Chargres search for an L.A. area stadium site, said he was previously unaware that such property was available in L.B. and is awaiting a tour of the Boeing property. Mr. Fabiai indicated the Chargers were still trying to strike a deal with the City of San Diego but is losing hope that common ground would be found between the city and the team. The Chargers will soon focus all of their energy on finding a site in the L.A. area and admitted that L.B. may prove ideal with equal access to both L.A. and O.C. fan base. He also felt that the City of Long Beach had alot more ot offer fans than Carson as far as hotels, resturants, and local entertainment.

Ian, San Diego - I have a vision of two::new expansion teams playing::in the Los Angeles market.::I envision an NFC team::playing in a remodeled::and upgraded Coliseum and::an AFC team playing in a::remodled and upgraded Rose Bowl.::And no it will not be::the Chargers, Vikings,::Saints, or Colts.

Dan Gates - The Chargers have been holding training camp in Carson, and Carson is in Los Angeles County. I mean, what next, the 49ers to hold training camp at Los Angeles Valley College in Studio City? At least the NFL is slowly returning to L.A. Let's hope that L.A. will have a team of its own in the near future!

Steven G - Great website, let's not lose faith.::

pir8 - Am I wrong, but isn't Pasadena in Los Angeles County. I think most people consider Pasadena as being in the Los Angeles area.

NFL Football in LA???? - OH Sorry Not in L.A. because we can’t have a new stadium near the Staples Center because the same group::that lost every Pro Football Team L.A. ever had says only they can decide where an NFL team can play in L.A. So not only won’t there be an NFL Team in the L.A. Coliseum, there won’t be a team in the City of L.A. at all. It amazing a group that has no credibility or any leverage with the NFL makes demands about playing in the Coliseum. So it’s “Welcome to Pasadena home of the Los Angeles Terminators” another in the long tradition of NFL teams that don’t play in the city their team is named after. ::::

mike bales - we need a team. fall has not been same since rams left

Abe (Gbajasackin) - LA needs a team. And This website needs some T-shirts!

Alex Nagel - The team that BELONGS in L.A. is the Rams. The N.F.L. should NEVER have allowed the team to leave after the 1994 season. It's time to get them out of that hick Missouri hell-hole and back to Los Angeles. They will ALWAYS be the LOS ANGELES RAMS!!!!

MK1 - It is nice that you guys want a team cause i would like to see LA with a team but stay ** away ** from the Minnesota Vikings or else. Speaking for everybody in Minnesota I'm out. P.S. get the colts or the chargers they were there before anyway. (* = edited for unacceptable content)

TP - Dear LA fans, Please leave all existing teams alone. Nobody wants to loose their franchise. Please don't be selfish, ask for an expansion team.

Pete - ********** everyone else. bring the raiders back!!! (* = edited for unacceptable content)

Joe Viking - I am a Vikings fan who is not in Minnesota, but Pennsylvania. I think it is an abomination that L.A, does not have a team, but I also will say I don't think I'd like to see the Vikings move there. If you did get the Vikings to go to L.A., I think I'd still root for the team, as they are very close to being an elite football team, and success is right around the corner. That's why I'd still root for them if they went to L.A., because I know this team under Tice is headed in the right direction.

manjack - Tomycar needs a sobriety check. Any team that has ever played in L.A. has had to build their following. Any NFL team that comes here in the future will follow the same steps & do just fine. The Colts would be a great choice & we would embrace the Chargers if they came. On the other hand, I've come across a number of people who would like to buy tickets & attend games but refused to when the Raiders were in town before & would do so again.

Schw - Don't kid yourself fellas. The ONLY reason the NFL is interested in putting a team in LA is $$ -- The #2 TV market, and not all those "great fans" in LA. Most of you "fans" won't be able to afford the ticket prices anyway...

Tomycar - there is really only 1 team that LA will solidly get behind.. and that is the Raiders.. we dont want the chargers.. the Colts plain suck.. the Vikes dont have much of a Fan base... just look around you when driving down the road.. I see Raider stickers everywhere bring back the one true team LA will really get behind and support.. or bring in an expansion

Philip in North Hollywood - I'm getting the feeling were not going to here much from the NFL about an LA team untill the sale of the Dodgers is settled. One potential owner want's to demo the existing stadium and build multi purpose or is it two fields? The other wants to add residential buildings.::I'm pulling for anyone who would make room for the NFL up there.::

george gekas - Two expansion teams, one in LA, one in Las Vegas

Craig Matheny - I want my boy to expirence the NFL in our town

Any Given Sunday - The NFL needs to get here! NOW!

shea a freeman - i need my la football team now!!!!!!!!!

rubbersoul - If you build it (stadium), they will come.

Norm Burnstein - Bring the NFL back. It is an absolute joke that we do not have a team. What have we done to have been cursed by the quite possibly the two worst owners in sports history

Corey A. Williams - It's nice to see that there our others that share the passion that I have for having an NFL team back in Los Angeles. I truly beleive that for this to be successful it has to be a "new" dinamic stadium. The only design that I have seen that will create that kind of buzz needed to stir up the emotions in L.A. is the "Hacienda" design forwarded by Mr. Ovits.::::Sincerely, ::::Big C.W.

Tom - I would look forward to a team in LA, as long as the taxpayers don't get stuck footing the bill.

Steve S. - First of all, the Bengals have a new stadium. They aren't moving. Idiots. With that out of the way, it should be the Colts in the Coliseum. Carrol Rosenblum did own them at one time, so it would sorta be like a home coming. Also, they were at one time in the NFL Western Conference. And I think the Coliseum can be fixed up into a real nice stadium. I was there at Rams games, Raider games, and the '84 Olympics. It has the history and the tradition. Just like the Colts.

john - the L.A BENGALS SOUNDS FUNNY I MEAN GOOD TO ME

Joey - In the last few years we have had World Series Champions, NBA Champions, WNBA Champions MLS Champs, Ducks are in the cup and the Avengers are in the playoffs...so why not football...bring the NFL to Los Angeles so everyone else chan have another reason to hate LA...

mike-in-bako - Vikings at Carson. Colts at Pasadena. It could happen!

TrueChargerFan - I agree you need to get an NFL team back in LA but not at the expense of San Diego. You know what it feels like to lose a team and believe me we true Bolt fans have supported this team through many horrible years and now when the team finally is getting good then they want to move. What makes you think that Spanos will not do the same down the road to you guys. I say if spanos moves the team to LA he should leave the name in SD because after having them for 40+ years San Diego deserves it. BY THE WAY YOU GUYS STUCK YOURSELVES WITH THE CLIPPERS D.K.! GET AN EXPANSION TEAM. KEEP THE BOLTS IN SAN DIEGO!!!!!

jdrsega - c'mon people we need to get more involve in this site since is the only thing dedicated to football in los angeles

Robert E Smith - We need a NFL in LA

Glen - In a perfect world, the Indy Colts will move to LA. The LA franchise sends the Colts name back to Baltmore, where it belongs. "Ravens" gets tossed. Arizona sends "Cardinals" to St. Louis, where IT belongs and takes an expansion name like "Wranglers" (Arizona CARDINALS?, be serious!). Then the who**, er, the OWNER of the St. Louis franchise sends the "Rams" name back to LA where IT belongs. Alas, this world is far from perfect. Whatever nickname we get, please let it be a real classy NFL type nickname, and not some bogus XFL,Arena FL, MISL name. I will not root for the "Extreme"!

Mischa Safdie' - I love your website and am glad to see your interest in return of the NFL to LA. It gives the many, many fans that want to see football back in the area a voice. It seems like everyone has been heard EXCEPT the true fans. I am a transplanted Texan..grew up a Dallas Cowboy fan. But I later became a club level season ticket holder with the Rams. When Dallas was losing..no one came to the games. When the win..everyone is there. Large cities that have many options of their citizens on a Sunday besides football are smart fans and will not tolerate an ownership that refuses to field a winning team. If you conistently lose in LA there will be little tolerance or support. But if we could get an ownership committed to this city and it's fans..field a competitive team..I am positive EVERY game will be a sellout here. It happened in Dallas...it will happen in LA too. Everyone loves a winner and that's what it is all about.

LHaynes - LA deserves an expansion team in the NFC West to rival the 40whiners and the true LA team that left us

Dave "The Angry Cane Fan" - What are the plans for parking & foot-traffic? Are the local residents around the stadium going to put-up with a boatload of fans both days of every weekend (UCLA & Pro Team LA)? I grew up in the Valley & would love to see a team back in SoCal! Get it done boys...

NINERGIRL - YEAH BABY, ANYTHING TO GET THE 49ERS CLOSER TO MY HOME TOWN!

Ernesto A. - The Lakers came from Minnesota, so can the Vikings!

Any Given Sunday - Come on Davis, win the lawsuit and get back here already. You shouldn't be able to both claim LA as your territory if you aren't playing here.

Bill Stilwell - The NFL needs to expand by two teams, LA and Anaheim.

Jason Barringer - Hell Yeah!!!!

aflbandwagon - Keep the Raiders away from LA and do not put football in the coliseum and you have my vote. Rosew Bowl or new stadium by staples like Casey's group wanted to do.

Brandon Pope "Avenger82" - GO AVENGERS!!!

LAProFootballFan - I wasnt quite old enough to grow up a Rams fan back in the good old days of Gabriel and the Fearsome Foursome, But I grew up around Jim Everret and Willie Anderson. We need to get the Rams back. The Only reason Los Angeles Football fans didn't show up was because Georgia and Al didn't put a good product on the field. Davis may not have been trying, but Georgia wanted to go home, similar to the movie Major League. The NFL will return to L.A. but after 8 years of youth without a hometeam, will anyone really care ?

Gus Ortiz - I want a new state-of-the-art stadium in downtown. I do not like the idea of the Rose Bowl or any other sub-urban site. There is nothing like an urban stadium to bring together a city. I hope to see it close to or next to Staples if possible. Let get it done in downtown..

Matt Hourihan - Bring the NFL to Pasadena!

israel - we need pro football back in la!!!! but we need to be serious about doing it not like in the past just talk and no action!!

Dave Rivera - We want an expansion team.

Mike - Focus on the Rose Bowl! The downtown and urban L.A. sites can't support a team unless it's the Raiders and we don't want to go there again!

Mak - Let's bring it back!!!

modoc - I'm an old Ram fan, and I really miss football in LA! I want a team close by again. We have a great football history here, and deserve a team!

Aladdin1977 - It's been almost 8 years since both LA NFL teams have departed our city, which puts us in misery. Someone in LA should work hard to have an NFL team to be played in our city. A state-of-the-art football should be built somewhere with the LA area. I heard rumors that the Rose Bowl can be renovated to attract an NFL franchise. I think it would be a good idea since the parking situation there isn't much of a problem. The area where the Rose Bowl is pretty decent and I think it's pretty. If the Coliseum was to be renovated, well, I don't think it would be a good idea. The area where the Coliseum is at is pretty much a rough area. The parking there is pretty harsh and it's too much stress. So I think the Rose Bowl should be a good place to see an NFL football match-ups. So I'm looking forward for an NFL team to return to LA and we can enjoy the game of football, once again. Oh! One more thing. I think either the Rams should return to LA or maybe if we either have a transfer or expansion team, I think it should be called the Los Angeles Sultans, which is cool. So I hope in the next years, we can enjoy the game of football as it was before.

Random Fan - Lets reclaim the Chargers. Cause its ether that or wait for Al Davis's Oakland lease to run out.

John De Guzman - LA needs a team right now so please nfl make all the angelenos dreams come true..

The Devin - BRING IT BACK! NOW! MMMMM DO IT! I WANT A TEAM AND DON'T WANNA WAIT UNTIL I'M 100 YEARS OLD!

Rick R. Ituarte - Fight On !!!

Jill Soto - Pretty exciting! Much support to you all the way!

Eric Geller - I grew up watching the Rams at the Coliseum in the 70's 70,000+ every game. They were here over 40 years. PRO FOOTBALL works in LA!...if the owner (Georgia) doesn't sabotage the team. LET'S GET IT BACK!! NOW!!!

D.K. - L.A. football fans unite!! It is time to put our town back on the NFL map! Let's steal the Chargers from San Diego. It will serve them right for sticking us with the Clippers!

tedin - I don't know why there's such a fuss being made about using taxpayer money for a new football stadium. If I'm not mistaken, that's exactly how the present Coliseum was built.

ButtHead - Great Website....Good job on the graphics and content!::Please don't bring back the Raidah's

tedin - With due respect to Kevin Costner, I say we need our own "field of dreams." If we build it, they will come.

pir8 - I liked the Rams, but I see no reason why they would come back. The Rams seem to be happy in St. Louis. Unless the fan base drops out, I don't see them returning to Los Angeles anytime soon. However, I would love to see the Rams return here to Los Angeles.

Fullerton Ram fan - I think this town needs the Rams back with new and better ownership than what it left with. 50 years is a long time and the fan base is still here just needs to grown a little more. Go Rams & Go LA

Gonzo - Need more folks like Raider T to shake these L.A. politicians up, and push hard for a team. I'm helping Uncle Sam at this time...Wish I could be back in L.A. to push the issue. Practicing for this overseas team from Iraq. Hoo-ah!!! Go Army! Go L.A.!!!

Ramtough - I was a big Rams fan since the days of George Allen and the blue and white helmets. To me they were the coolest looking uniforms around. But when they left for St. Louis I could care less anymore. I have no loyality or attachment to that club. I say we rent a bunch of moving vans and reloctae the Rams back to LA where they belong. Also built a Ram Hall of Fame wing where they can greatly honor the past players. You think Kurt Warner even knows who Ollie Matson or Elroy Hirsch or Les Richter are??..Rams blue and white baby!

The Devin - Not having a team in Los Angeles but having one in say Jackonsville Florida or Nashville is sheer insanity.

T-Dog - I'm as big a football fan as most and I can't believe it's been this long without, but whoever comes they better be winning quick or we'll boot them out just like we did the others. (Al Davis, you suck!)

NOSports007 - Good luck getting a team, and the Saints aren't going anywhere. Take the Vikings.

diat150 - sorry fellas but the new orleans saints arent gonna be locating to L.A. in this lifetime. good luck with the other teams though

bradpepsi - Bring in the Vikings and build a stadium in Irvine

JOHN - GO LA!

daveinhb - Get us a NEW team, no rerun retreads!!

Paul Missan - We need the NFL back it's been just way too long. I don't care what team just bring it back, baby.

la4life32 - bring back DA RAIDERS!!!

Richard L. Gonzalez - We need the NFL in L.A. Peyton Manning goes back to pass, sees Marvin Harrison in the endzone . . . TOUCHDOWN Los Angeles Colts!

john - la, does need a team but not the colts .the fans of the colts put up with at least 17 years of shitty football and now that they are somewhat winning those fans should not suffer.hell they payed and built that dome before the colts even moved there

subdermal - Dear NFL: The fans of pro football in LA are bright people. They won't be taken for a ride as far as tax dollars, or sublevel product not concerned with winning. Good ownership, competitive product, and a safe, but festive atmosphere will fill stadiums week after week in LA.

South Beach Scott - Personally, I much prefer the COLTS. They're the closest to having a championship squad on the field. The main draw, though, is the owner. If we had the Colts as our home team we would never, EVER have to worry about some sort of character issue(s) a la Dan Snyder, Al Davis, or (*gag*) Georgia the Whore.

manjack - We in the Southern Calfornia/greater L.A. area just need a benevolent owner (the first since Carroll Rosenbloom), a safe, clean environment in which to see games and a team that works hard to compete and win football games. For the sake of this area, I would say the best thing for us would be to reclaim the only existing pro football team that this area conceived... the Chargers. restore them to their original state with the crisp white helmets and collegiate blue jerseys with lightning bolts everywhere. Then put them in a refurbished Rose Bowl or a brand new downtown facility & watch the people come. It would be a great start to pro football in L.A. all over again & a source of pride for our community.

Raider T - I'm hungry for some L.A. pro football...

sanapier - The NFL needs to pressure Georgia to give us our Name back for whatever team we happen to get. Go Rams

NFL2LA - Chargers Plan to Take It Slow::::LA TIMES:::* Team offers to wait before triggering escape clause in lease, allowing San Diego officials to examine feasibility of a new stadium.::::::The San Diego Chargers said Monday they have met the financial criteria required to activate the escape clause in their Qualcomm Stadium lease, but they are offering to postpone the 60-day triggering window in the interest of both sides.::::Mark Fabiani, the team's point man on new stadium issues, said the Chargers are willing to delay the process for three months — essentially calling a timeout on a triggering period that began Dec. 1 — to allow the specially appointed task force to finish its examination of the stadium situation. Upon approval of San Diego Mayor Dick Murphy and the city council, the triggering period would begin March 1.

PAUL - No matter how much love I have for the Raiders it is time to bring back the greatest show on eart back to LA...NFL Football. i don't care what team it is cause if they suck at least we get to see other teams cvome and play in our city. i think the citizens of LA should band together and let the Coliseum know that they are one reason why the chargers(1960)Rams, Raiders and even the XFL abbandoned the Coliseum...cause it is a huge piece of (explicit). I think the perfect team is not the Chargers but the Colts cause since they left Baltimore they sort of left the radar screen, plus their fans care for basketball way more than any other sport and thats a fact. Go Rosbowl, love their efforts.

Claudette L. - Bring the NFL back to la "Desperados" is the perfect name

NFL2LA - Subject: Madame Ram .. has not been to one single game this year... ::Date: 2002-12-10 20:33:10 PST ::Shaw is hiding out in California ....hmmmm...:: "A good plan, violently executed now, is better than a perfect plan next week."::- George S.
